What is Chimasu?

Chimasu is a monthly subscription box containing great tasting and original snacks from East and South-East Asian countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and Singapore.


Which countries can my box be delivered to?

At the moment Chimasu boxes can be delivered to the entire UK. In the future, we aim to extend this to include most European countries.

When will I receive my box?

Orders placed by the 10th of the month will be shipped on the 12th (or next working day) of the same month. Orders placed after the 10th will ship the following month on the 12th (or next working day). Boxes should arrive around the 15th of the month or the next working day after.

Do I need to be in and sign for my box?

A Chimasu box contains at least 12 different snacks and will not fit through a standard letter box due to its size. You can however get the box delivered to a neighbour or place of work. Alternatively you can arrange to collect it from your local depot at a time convenient for you. We are currently working on providing you with an option to choose a 'safe place' for your box to be left in case you are out.

Signing up and managing orders

When is the latest I can sign up or make changes to my box?

We personalise each box according to your preferences so need to start preparing them in good time. This means we have a cut-off time each month after which no further changes can be made in time for the next delivery date. Changes that are affected by cut-off times include: new subscriptions, changes to addresses and changes to preferences. Our cut-off is at 23.59 on the 10th of each month. This gives us enough time to pack your box and send it out to you. Any changes including new subscriptions made after the 10th will be only take affect for the following month's delivery date.

What do I do if my box is late?

We always pack and ship your boxes with plenty of time to get to you by the 15th. Occasionally there may be slight delays or problems with deliveries due to reasons out of our control. This means that we can't guarantee your box will get to you by the 15th. If your box hasn't arrived in the next day's post, please let us know by e-mail at [email protected]

Can I track my shipment?

As soon as your box is on its way, you should receive an email from your courier containing information regarding the status of your shipment including information on how to track it. Regardless, you can track your parcel by entering its 16-digit tracking number at: .

What happens if I am not available when my courier arrives?

In most cases, your courier will leave a contact number so you can get in touch directly to reschedule a delivery. Your courier will automatically make three attempts to deliver your parcel, usually on consecutive days, before returning the parcel to the depot to await further instructions. If you have missed the first attempt, they will leave a card notifying you of the next delivery date. Alternatively the courier will leave your parcel in a 'safe place' of your choice. A safe place enables a courier to collect or deliver your parcel even if you're not in. It should be dry and secured from public access but still easily accessible to our courier. Typical examples include a shed, greenhouse or porch.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time however this must be done before re-billing date, which is on the 20th of the month preceding the next delivery date. For example, if you would like to cancel your subscription in time to stop receiving your Chimasu box in February, you must cancel before the 20th of January. Simply log into your account and click the edit button under the Your Subscription(s) sections. On the following page click the Cancel Subscription button and confirm.

How do I skip a month if I am away or want a break?

You can postpone a box to a later delivery date in your account. Simply log into your account and click the edit button under the Your Subscription(s) sections. Please note that this must be done before the 20th of the preceding month.

How does payment work

How and when do I pay?

You pay upfront for the duration of your subscription. For instance, if you subscribe to our six-month package you will pay for the six months before you receive your first box. You will then be billed again on the 20th of the month in which your subscription is due for renewal. If you have signed up for a monthly subscription and signed up after the cut-off, which is 23.59 on the 10th of the month, you will not be charged on the 20th of that same month.

How much does delivery cost?

Postage and packaging is free within the UK. For other destinations around the world it is expected to be £20 per month.

How we pick your boxes

Which types of boxes do you offer?

At present we offer one type of Chimasu box. This box contains an assortment of 12+ different snacks which have been picked based on your preferences.

How do you pick which foods I'll get?

As part of the sign up process you will be given the opportunity to complete a short survey on your food preferences. This survey will enable you to tell us about your favourite types of snacks and will act as the basis for us picking the contents of your box. Don't worry however, if you change your mind about your favourite snacks, you can tell us via e-mail at [email protected] We aim to improve this process in the future so that it can be changed easily within your account area.

How do I find out about the ingredients of your foods?

Information about the ingredients and nutrition is contained in English on the packaging of all our snacks.

Do you cater for allergies?

Unfortunately at this time, Chimasu is not suitable for people with allergies.

Are your boxes suitable for vegetarians?

Unfortunately we can't guarantee all the snacks in our boxes are suitable for vegetarians.

Are your products nut free?

Unfortunately we can't guarantee that our products are free from traces of nuts and sesame ingredients.

I don't like spicy food or have special dietary requirements - can I make sure I don't receive any in my Chimasu boxes?

We are working on dietary preference options that will enable you to state your dietary preferences. For instance, whether or not you eat meat and whether or not you like spicy food.

Do any of my snacks require cooking?

The vast majority of our snacks can be eaten straight away without any cooking. Our noodles however will typically require cooking with water. Please see cooking instructions contained on packaging.


How environmentally friendly is Chimasu?

At Chimasu, we love the world we live in and believe in taking all necessary steps to ensure that we are being as environmentally conscious as possible. As such, we organise regular audits of our suppliers, products and processes to ensure that we minimise any environmental impact.

Is my box recyclable?

Yes, 100%! And we really encourage you to recycle it.


How does the referral program work?

Our generous referral program allows you to give as many of your friends as you like £7 off their 1st Chimasu subscription. For every friend who subscribes you will also receive £5 (converted to USD at Paypal's conversion rate). Please note that offer may change from time to time and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Offer is not valid if the subscription of referred friend is cancelled and refunded within 30 days. Referer will only receive £5 reward (converted to USD at Paypal's conversion rate) after 30 day period has elapsed without referee cancelling and refunding order.
